Lira 6
The 3-way Lira 6 is a piece of technological sculpture that fuses pure sound with contemporary form, integrating seamlessly into interiors from classical to modern. Conceived under the Symbiotic Drive philosophy, it delivers a refined sonic character. Four purpose-built electroacoustic transducers work within an MDF cabinet reinforced by an internal lattice of black bamboo panels.
Meticulously executed down to the smallest detail, the Lira 6 floorstanding loudspeaker redefines synergy between industrial design and advanced engineering, behaving like a finely crafted musical instrument. It is a compelling choice for music lovers who expect not only outstanding sound but also distinctive, engineering-led aesthetics. Precision trim rings, the woven texture of Curv diaphragms, and the phase-correcting EQ-Ring set into the waveguide create a singular composition. With every element designed in-house, Lira 6 offers premium-class quality and design while maintaining an exceptional price-to-performance ratio.
Symbiotic Drive concept
This 3-way design is the culmination of Indiana Line’s passion and decades of experience in loudspeaker systems. It is built around our proprietary, holistic Symbiotic Drive approach, in which drive units, cabinet, and crossover are developed from the ground up as one coherent electroacoustic system. Specially selected materials – Curv (woven polypropylene), Al-Mg, MDF, and bamboo – are used throughout. Lira 6 acts as an acoustic sculpture that engages with the listening space, embodying a dual nature: technological precision and artistic soul. The purity of form is underscored by trim rings that conceal mounting hardware and sit perfectly flush with the baffle.
Dynamic, clean form
The gently rear-tilted cabinet provides ideal time alignment of the transducers at the listening position while lending the loudspeaker a dynamic stance. Lira 6 features non-parallel side walls that converge toward the center in the vertical plane (wider at the base, tapering toward the top). This reduces internal standing waves and gives the loudspeaker a slender, weightless look. The MDF enclosure is finished in multiple layers of durable matte lacquer (PE + PU) for long-lasting beauty and toughness. Internal bamboo bracing effectively damps vibration, tying into the side, rear, and notably the 21-mm-thick front.
A loudspeaker shaped like an ancient lyre
The magnetically attached grille is made from an acoustically transparent fabric that does not disturb tonal balance. Fitted, it transforms the loudspeaker into a minimalist monolith. A 10-mm distance between the black grille frame and cabinet edges emphasizes the trapezoidal architecture, accentuating the crisp side profile and subtly recalling the silhouette of the ancient lyre – an instrument famed for harmony yet defined by simple lines. These details allow Lira 6, modern as it is, to tell many musical stories with style.
Advanced tweeter transducer
Our proprietary 28-mm aluminum–magnesium (Al-Mg) dome tweeter offers 21% more radiating area than standard units, translating into higher sensitivity. A narrow surround reduces moving mass, while the precisely formed 50-micron dome ensures exceptionally clean treble. The motor uses a refined neodymium assembly with a copper shorting ring and advanced cooling. A hybrid rear-chamber damping system lowers the resonance frequency, resulting in extremely low distortion.
Tweeter within the Symbiotic Drive philosophy
The 28-mm tweeter is integral to the holistic Symbiotic Drive concept, combining the 3D-Guide waveguide, the EQ-Ring phase corrector and an LC filter within the crossover. The outcome is class-leading high-frequency dispersion and directivity tailored to integrate perfectly with the dedicated midrange driver below. In addition, the inclined baffle and waveguide align the two drivers superbly in phase. Identical neodymium motor topologies keep their voice coils aligned to the listener within 1 mm – an unheard-of level of precision at this price point.
Curv-diaphragm midrange driver
A 4.5-inch midrange of formidable capability operates in its own sealed sub-enclosure. It features a cast-aluminum basket and a ground-up Curv diaphragm, combining high dynamic headroom with mechanical stability and even off-axis dispersion. Drive comes from a neodymium UHVC (Underhung Voice Coil) drive – topologically identical to the tweeter’s. A purpose-designed Dual-Wave suspension for the midrange and a precisely profiled trim ring that masks the basket stabilize the diaphragm and control dispersion. This allows the midrange to shoulder part of the upper band from the tweeter and hand off seamlessly to the pair of woofers operating below.
Twin low-frequency drivers
Bass duties are handled by two newly developed 7-inch long-throw woofers capable of generating impressively high sound-pressure levels. Their sophisticated motor systems use robust ferrite magnets and three shorting rings (two aluminum, one copper) to tightly control inductance, yielding extraordinarily low dynamic distortion. Second-generation Dual-Wave suspensions enable a wide operating bandwidth and suppress intermodulation distortion at large excursions, while working in perfect harmony with the Curv diaphragms to prevent midrange resonances.
A meticulously engineered crossover
Under the black-anodized aluminum terminal plate sits a three-way crossover network with air-core inductors and polypropylene capacitors. Low- and mid/high-frequency sections are physically separated. The network supports bi-wiring/bi-amping and incorporates dedicated LC-Trap circuit that extend the usable range of the partnering woofer and tweeter. In line with the Symbiotic Drive philosophy, the crossover employs very gentle slopes, allowing all sections to work in complete phase coherence – as if acting like a single full-range transducer.
Down-firing bass-reflex
Indiana Line’s Lira 6 uses a carefully tuned bass-reflex system with a large-diameter (62 mm) port venting through the base. This configuration leverages floor coupling to reinforce low-frequency energy. The cabinet rests on four rubber-damped feet that mechanically decouple it from the floor and let the reflex system operate efficiently at a low tuning frequency – without audible turbulence or compression.
Refined sound
Lira 6 will satisfy even demanding listeners. It delivers exceptional transparency, full-bodied, precise and dynamic bass, and a wide, stable soundstage – class-leading performance for its category. High sensitivity and broad compatibility mean Lira 6 partners confidently with amplifiers from a wide range of manufacturers, making system integration straightforward.
